1-
An Afternoon With Salt and Pepper
allows Jerry
and
Naomi
to explore a wide range of music, creating a composite that's rich in
it's diversity.
The
Standards and Broadway tunes in this program come from a Who's Who of
musical greats, including Harold Arlen, George Gershwin, Cole Porter,
Richard Rodgers, Ira Gershwin, and Lorenz Hart. Songs include " Let's
Fall In Love", "Our Love Is Here To Stay", "What Is
This Thing Called Love" and "Where Or When".
More
modern day composers such as Michele Legrand and Andrew Lloyd Webber are
also represented in such songs as "Memory" and "How Do
You Keep The Music Playing".
Finally,
the duo has included some folk music, international favorites, and a stirring
tribute to this country.
This
collection of music is versatile enough to be changed according to the
needs and tastes of the audience, adding either more contemporary rock
or more traditional jazz classics, and other musical genre. The show can
run anywhere from 1 to 2 hours, excluding intermissions.
In short,
this program is a sampling of Naomi
and Jerry's
personal favorites. It celebrates the Magic that is Music.

2-
Salt and Pepper Present Sinatra
and Garland. These 2 artists are probably Jerry
and Naomi's
favorites, so it's only fitting that Salt and Pepper pay tribute to them.
However, not only does Jerry
sing Sinatra and Naomi
sing Garland, but the 2 will mix things around so that you'll hear harmonies
neither Sinatra nor Garland ever dreamed of, and you'll also hear Jerry
sing Garland, and Naomi
sing Sinatra.
Songs
include such greats as "It Was A Very Good Year", "I've
Got The World On A String", "You Make Me Feel So Young",
"The Man That Got Away", "Somewhere Over The Rainbow",
and "Get Happy".
3-
Salt and Pepper Present Broadway
Show Stoppers. Where do we begin? Salt
and Pepper
strive to make all their songs show stoppers, but these are the ones that
became popular because they were broadway standouts. There are so many
Jerry
and Naomi
love, and they'll be mixing them around from show to show. They'll include
"I Dreamed A Dream", "Bring Him Home", "Oh What
A Beautiful Morning", "Don't Rain On My Parade", "Sililoquoy",
"Sit Down You're Rockin' The Boat", "Old Devil Moon",
"Send In The Clowns", "All I Ask Of You", and "If
I Loved You".
4-
Salt and Pepper Present Great
Standards. The term "Great Standards" is basically an
oxymoron. The standards have become such because they are great. Otherwise,
they would never have been played again and again and so would now be
forgotten! Some of the songs mentioned in the above programs qualify.
Others include "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered", "Have
You Met Miss Jones", "A Nightingale Sang In Berkeley Square",
"They Can't Take That Away From Me", and "It Had To Be
You".

5-
Salt and Pepper Present
Sentimental Journey. This program can cover a great deal of musical
territory, depending on how sentimental you want Salt
and Pepper
to be, and how long- ago and far away you want the journey. They can travel
a bit back with "Mack The Knife", "Unforgettable",
"Once Upon A Time", and "Cry Me A River", or further
back with "A Kiss To Build A Dream On" and "Time After
Time", or even further with "What'll I Do", "Has Anybody
Seen My Gal" and "Please Don't Talk About Me When I'm Gone".
It's up to you!
6-
Salt and Pepper Present A Tribute
To America. There is so much to choose from here. Many songs,
such as "The Star Spangled Banner", "God Bless America",
"America The Beautiful", and "You're A Grand Old Flag"
are familiar, but there are also many surprises in this program. And even
the known songs will be given a special twist through Salt and Pepper's
special arrangements, including intricate and unexpected harmonies.
7-
Salt and Pepper Present Crazy
For Gershwin. And they are!! The fantastic songs already mentioned
include "Our Love Is Here To Stay' and "They Can't Take That
Away From Me". And there are so many others, including but not limited
to: "Embraceable You", "Love Walked In", "Someone
To Watch Over Me", "The Man I Love", "Fascinatin'
Rhythm", "Slap That Bass", "Summertime", and
"A Foggy Day".

8-
Salt and Pepper Present Crazy
For Cole. Jerry
and Naomi
have together and separately performed many Porter classics, and there
are so many from which to choose. The list includes, "Just One Of
Those Things", "I Concentrate On You", "What Is This
Thing Called Love", "True Love", "It's Delovely",
"I Love Paris", "I Get A Kick Out Of You", and "I've
Got You Under My Skin".
See
if you can choose the duets and the solos. Even if you guess correctly
now, Salt
and Pepper
may change the musical arrangements by the time you hear the program,
so a correct answer now may become a wrong answer next month.
9-
Salt and Pepper Present a Tribute
to New York. So many songs, so little time. It seems that every
time you turn around, there's another outstanding New York song that's
been written, including both recent ones and "old chestnuts".
And as native New Yorkers (both born in Brooklyn), Salt
and Pepper
have to get into the action!
Selections
here will include, "Theme from New York, New York", "New
York State Of Mind", "I Happen To Like New York", "I
Gotta Get Back To New York", "I'll Take Manhattan", "Autumn
In New York", and "It's A Wonderful Town".
10-
Others?... Salt
and Pepper
can also do shows featuring additional songwriters (Rodgers and Hart,
Harold Arlen, Stephen Sondheim, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Jacques Brel, Michele
LeGrand...), additional favorite performers (Barbra Streisand, Harry Connick
Jr, Tony Bennett, Bette Midler, Sammy Davis Jr., Ella Fitzgerald, Judy
Collins...), and favorite Broadway musicals (Carousel, Oklahoma, Finian's
Rainbow, Fiddler On The Roof, Guys and Dolls, Les Miserables, Company,
Follies,...). Again, they pride themselves on the variety of their musical
tastes and their versatility. Song styles range from soft rock, to folk,
to jazz, to light opera. And no matter how obscure the song may be, as
long as you name the song and can provide the music, they'll give it a
shot. After all, the Salt
and Pepper
motto is ,"Music, like variety, is the spice of life". So play
on!!
